The Department of Theatre at the University of Victoria invites applications for an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in voice.

The appointee will be responsible primarily for teaching voice at the undergraduate level. The successful candidate will also contribute to the department’s mainstage productions and supervise at the graduate level.

Applicants will demonstrate the capacity to meet standards for career progression for research/creative activities, teaching, and service commitments related to the department and the university.

Specifically, candidates will have a terminal degree (e.g. MFA or PhD) and documented success teaching voice at a post-secondary institution for a minimum of two years in total. Evidence of professional experience is necessary.

Applicants will have a record of professional achievement in a range of theatre-related research/creative activities, including the following: acting, devising, choreography, community-based research, directing, dramaturgy, playwriting, scholarly publishing, or theatrical design.

The successful applicant will contribute to the development of the curriculum. Secondary teaching areas might include performance, directing, and/or devising.

The appointee will have the ability to collaborate as a collegial member of an outstanding team of dedicated and distinguished professors and production personnel who work at one of the finest teaching and performance facilities in Canada.
