Job at the University of Lethbridge: Drama Instructor & Production Manager



The University of Lethbridge, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Drama invites applications for an appointment focusing on Production and Stage Management at the rank of Instructor commencing July 1, 2021.

Applicants should hold a degree in Theatre/Dramatic Arts and/or an extensive record of professional theatre activity including experience in Production and Stage Management. Demonstrated teaching effectiveness also considered a strong asset.

The successful candidate will serve as the Drama Department’s Production Manager for our annual, curricular-driven theatrical offerings, which typically include four mainstage productions, two each per fall and spring terms. As Production Manager, the successful candidate will work collaboratively and liaise with the Department Chair, Facilities Manager, and Operations Manager regarding all production scheduling, budget management, communication, and reporting. The Production Manager will also coordinate the overarching needs of TheatreXtra, our student-managed theatre group, who produce two fringe-style shows annually.

The successful candidate will teach courses and mentor students in technical theatre including stage and production management, theatre in professional contexts, and potentially other topics in their areas of expertise. Active service contributions to the Department of Drama and the Faculty of Fine Arts are also expected.

The Faculty of Fine Arts offers degree programs in Drama, Art, Music, and New Media within a liberal education context and focuses on excellence in teaching and research/creative activity.
