Invitation to a Festivus Open House for Precarious Theatre Teachers & Researchers

On behalf of the newly formed CATR Task Force on Precarity in Theatre and Drama Studies, Jacquey Taucar and Neil Silcox invite you to a Festivus Open House for Precarious Theatre Teachers and Researchers of all stripes

What: This is an opportunity for camaraderie and connection with colleagues from across the country who do independent research and/or teach theatre in the studio, in the lecture hall, or anywhere else (but, like, in a precarious way). Fix yourself a warm drink (literally or figuratively) and join us for all the festivus traditions: feats of strength, airing of grievances, and the Festival Miracle (this even is bring-your-own-festivus-pole). We are excited to celebrate the great work that you do, and to talk about the unique challenges we face as part-time academics.

When: Saturday, December 17th at

  • 10:00 Pacific Time
  • 11:00 Mountain Time
  • 12:00 Prairie Time
  • 1:00 Eastern Time
  • 2:00 Atlantic Time
  • 2:30 Newfoundland Time

Where: Live in Neil’s Zoom Room (and it’s a FUN zoom room)

How to Register: Please fill out this google form with your name and email address, and we’ll send you the link: https://forms.gle/d5KY99PAKbJgiCa59

If you have any additional questions, please contact Neil Silcox (neilsilcox@gmail.com) or Jacquey Taucar (jtaucar@gmail.com)
