The Tom Hendry Awards honour and celebrate Canadian playwriting in a wide range of categories. It is the only awards ceremony in Canada dedicated solely to playwrights. Named after Tom Hendry, a founding member of PGC who passed away in 2012. The awards offer generous cash prizes and the winners are recognized at an annual ceremony held at The Arts and Letters Club of Toronto. Due to recent world wide events, this year the Nominee Gala and the Awards Evening will take place online. The Nominee Gala will take place virtually September 28th at 7:00 pm EST, and the Tom Hendry Awards ceremony will be presented October 25th – October 30th, 2020 at 7:30pm EST. The Awards ceremony schedule is as follows:

October 26, 2020 – Bra d’Or Award
October 27, 2020 – RBC Emerging Playwright Award
October 28, 2020 – Sharon Enkin TYA Award
October 29, 2020 – Comedy & Musical Award
