The Task Force on Precarity is pleased to kick off our E-initiative series supporting precarious and contingent educators and researchers in Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies. Over the next few months we will be hosting panels, workshops, and seminars that aim to cultivate community and provide assistance for the majority of CATR members who undertake their teaching and scholarship without ongoing support and security.
The Task Force’s co-organizers, Jacquey and Neil, are pleased to invite any and all precarious teachers and researchers to our first E-initiative session on Saturday, April 1st:
Pathways to Alt-Ac Careers
For those joining us across Turtle Island on Saturday, April 1st, our times are as follows:
- 9:00 – Pacific Time
- 10:00 – Mountain Time (+Saskatchewan)
- 11:00 – Prairie Time
- 12:00 – Eastern Time
- 1:00 Atlantic Time
- 1:30 Newfoundland Time
We have three guest speakers who will share their stories about transitioning out of Academia and reflect on their transferable skills, knowledge, and attributes they developed from theatre, drama, and performance studies.
We appreciate that precarious life means unpredictable schedules and precious, little, free time, so feel free to come late, leave early, or eat your breakfast or lunch! You are all welcome just as you are and need to be — from grad students to mid-career independent scholars, or if you are just interested in considering a transition.
To register, just fill out this google form with a few details, and we’ll send you the link to our Zoom room: https://forms.gle/8iNhEBWVheuS6Lcy8
Jacquey and Neil hope to see you there!
