The DAN School of Drama and Music at Queen’s University invites applications from suitably qualified candidates interested in teaching DRAM 251/3.0 Introduction to Playwriting.
This is a remotely-delivered introductory lecture course with an expected enrolment of ~22 students. Candidates should have professional playwriting experience and teaching experience at the University level in playwriting and drama. An M.A., M.F.A or Ph.D will also be viewed as an asset. This is a term appointment for the period January 1, 2022 to April 30, 2022 with classes in session from January 10, 2022 to April 8, 2022. Synchronous online classes are scheduled on Thursday evenings from 4:00-6:00 p.m.

The performance home of the Dan School is the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts, a beautiful first-class facility on the shore of Lake Ontario, which contains a magnificent concert hall, a black box studio, a rehearsal hall, a recital hall, as well as range of studios, practice rooms, and classrooms.

Course Description:
DRAM 251/3.0 Introduction to Playwriting
Writing of dramatic exercises and one-act plays accompanied by dramaturgical study of published and original works.
NOTE Priority in the on-campus offering of this course is given to students in a DRAM Plan.
