Curating Safer Spaces & Devising Protocols That Welcome: New House-Rules in the Domain of Story

Your Invitation to Partake and Participate

Hosted By: CATR Conduct Committee

Kirsty Johnson (Chair) and Jill Carter for CATR’s Conduct Committee invite all CATR delegates to join us at a virtual “Dreaming Table” at which to consider questions around how the spaces in which we work might be rendered safer for Indigenous, Black and Racialized artists; for female-identifying artists; for Deaf, Disabled and Mad artists, for LGBTQIA+ artists and for artists who have been made to feel unwelcome or unsafe in the academy, the sites of public performance and/or in the spaces of digital gathering and/or performance.

Adapted from Lois Weaver’s Long Table practice, this online salon opens up space to begin a process of curating accessible and welcoming spaces in which culture workers from all communities will be able to do their work without risk to their wellbeing.

All conference attendees are encouraged to participate in this session.

Session Date: Friday 11 June 2021
Session Time: (16:30-19:30, ET)
Registration Information: Forthcoming
