The School of Media and Performing Arts at the University of Portsmouth is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Theatre Production to join our team at an exciting stage in our development.

We are seeking an experienced practitioner / academic with practical expertise and knowledge in areas of theatre production, design and making, directing and/or devising. An established practitioner / academic, with significant experience of practice and industry, the successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the delivery of core teaching across the undergraduate programmes along with appropriate departmental activities such as recruitment, curriculum development and course management and leadership. They will take a leading role in developing specialist aspects of theatre production, and will be able to make a creative contribution to our interests in new technologies and contemporary theatre practices.

With two closely related undergraduate programmes in Drama and Performance, and Musical Theatre, we are consolidating our growing reputation in the performing arts and looking to build on its success. In joining our small team of established scholars and practitioners, it is anticipated that the post holder will be excited to exploit and explore the opportunities of working within a multidisciplinary creative environment, which includes a range of specialist technologies such as motion capture and virtual reality and will be keen to use this to enhance and augment teaching, research and practice in the school and beyond.
